In 1895, Frank Miller and Reverend Rufus W. Miller organized the Pocono Spring Water Ice Company, which constructed a dam across Upper Tunkhannock Creek, creating Lake Naomi. Over the decades, it evolved from a summer retreat with hotels and assemblies into a planned recreational community, particularly after the Logan Steele family acquired 2,600 acres in 1963, forming the modern Lake Naomi Club.
