Elle Hartje, a forward for the New York Sirens in the Professional Women's Hockey League, is working with the NHL to promote girls' hockey in Detroit. Hartje hosted a hockey camp at the Detroit Skating
Club, supported by the NHL's Unites program, which provided scholarships to increase participation. The camp exceeded expectations with 36 attendees, highlighting the growing interest in girls' hockey. Hartje, who grew up playing hockey in Detroit, aims to give back to the community and inspire the next generation of female hockey players.
