REV Renewables, an LS Power company, has commissioned the Tumbleweed Energy Storage facility in Kern County, California, marking a significant milestone in energy storage. This facility is the first eight-hour battery energy storage system in the state,
designed to enhance grid reliability and support clean energy integration. Developed in partnership with Ava Community Energy and California Community Power, the project was completed ahead of the California Public Utilities Commission's requirements. The Tumbleweed facility aims to shift solar energy generated during the day to power homes and businesses overnight, reducing emissions and strengthening grid reliability.
