The Sacramento State women's volleyball team secured its first-ever Big West road victory by defeating UC San Diego 3-1 (25-23, 25-23, 15-25, 25-16) on Friday evening at LionTree Arena in La Jolla, California. Outside hitter Victoria Marthaler led the
team with a match-high 20 kills. Additionally, Hornet libero Reese Ampi achieved her 1,000th career dig during the match, becoming the 30th player in program history to reach this milestone. Ampi, who is in her third season as the team's starting libero and was last year's Big Sky Libero of the Year, also recorded her first career double-double with 10 assists and 11 digs. The Hornets' overall record improved to 8-8, and their conference record stands at 3-2 in their inaugural year in the Big West Conference.
