John Hunt, the long-serving Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Woolworths Group, is leaving his position to join Marks and Spencer (M&S) as the Chief Digital and Technology Officer (CDTO). Hunt's departure was announced via a LinkedIn post by M&S, which
was verified by an M&S spokesperson. Hunt will assume his new role in the Northern Hemisphere summer, taking over the digital, data, and technology functions at M&S. During his tenure at Woolworths, Hunt was instrumental in integrating Google Cloud services, enhancing the retailer's data capabilities and AI initiatives. Tim Kelly, currently the technology transformation director at Woolworths, will serve as interim CIO while the company searches for a permanent replacement.
