Trek Metals (ASX:TKM) has secured a nine-month option to acquire 100% of Solution Mining and its Matrix Manganese Project located in Mohave County, Arizona, for a total consideration of US$200,000. The project encompasses 154 unpatented lode mining claims
covering approximately 12 square kilometers. Trek Metals will pay an upfront fee of US$50,000 for exclusive rights, with an additional US$150,000 due upon exercising the option. Chairman Andrew Reece emphasized that this acquisition aligns with the company's disciplined approach to portfolio growth, providing exposure to manganese, a critical mineral for which the United States is currently 100% reliant on imports. The Matrix project is seen as a low-risk complement to Trek's existing portfolio, offering an exploration asset that can be advanced during Australia's wet season.
