What's Happening?
The REMADE Institute, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Energy, has announced a $4.86 million investment in new technology research aimed at enhancing materials recovery, remanufacturing, and recycling within U.S. manufacturing. This funding
will support 10 new projects focused on advancing technologies from Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6 to TRL 7, addressing the 'Valley of Death' where many innovations fail to reach commercial viability. These projects aim to improve the circular economy by increasing the reuse and recycling of critical materials such as rare earth elements, aluminum, and textiles. The initiative is part of REMADE's ongoing efforts to strengthen U.S. manufacturing competitiveness and supply chain resilience.
