AT&T, a major telecommunications provider, has received approval from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to discontinue legacy services at over 30 percent of its approximately 4,600 copper wire centers. This discontinuation is slated to become
effective in late 2026. Additionally, the company has secured approval to cease selling legacy services to new customers, a process known as grandfathering, at more than 85 percent of its wire centers.
