New College of Florida, in collaboration with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County, hosted a Teen Summit aimed at equipping young people with essential life skills. The event, themed 'Transforming Under Fire and Flourishing' (TUFF), brought over 100
teens from the Gulf Coast to the college campus. The summit focused on teaching practical skills such as conflict resolution and relationship management, which are crucial for teens navigating today's economic challenges. Attendees participated in campus immersion activities, including designing custom college degrees and engaging in a scavenger hunt, to experience college life and foster a sense of belonging. The event was organized by the New College Career Center, with significant contributions from Mitchel Ruzek and Tracy Papp, who emphasized community engagement and academic excellence.
