A recent survey conducted by Talker Research and commissioned by Visit Anaheim reveals that nostalgia is a significant factor influencing travel plans in 2026, particularly among Gen Z and millennials. The survey, which included 2,000 Americans, found
that 61% of Gen Z and 54% of millennials believe this year will be focused on nostalgia, compared to 44% of Gen X and 37% of baby boomers. Nostalgia is expected to impact travel destinations, activities, and companions, with 49% of nostalgia-driven trips occurring in the summer. The survey highlights that younger generations are nostalgic for more recent years, such as 2012 for Gen Z and 2006 for millennials. The trend is attributed to nostalgia providing comfort, improving mental health, and fostering family connections.
