The Stokes Nature Center recently hosted the 'AMERICA250: Celebrating the Beauty of Our Natural Landscapes Awards Night,' marking the conclusion of a month-long art competition. The event showcased 41 local art pieces created by community members of various
ages, with the public invited to vote for their favorites. The competition garnered a total of 755 votes, with each piece receiving at least one vote. Kendra Penry, the executive director of the Stokes Nature Center, announced the winners, highlighting the event's success and potential for future growth. Notable winners included Dana Worley, who received two awards for her piece 'The Gift,' a glass bowl featuring a glass eagle feather inspired by a personal experience at Bear Lake. The awards were presented as tree 'cookies,' circular pieces carved from trees near the nature center.
