Former rugby star Joe Marler is set to become the first celebrity Gladiator on the BBC's entertainment series, Gladiators. Known for his participation in Celebrity Traitors, Marler will take on the persona 'Mauler' in the upcoming fourth series of Gladiators,
scheduled to begin in 2027. The BBC announced that Marler will make special appearances characterized by his power and personality. Filming is currently underway in Sheffield. Marler, recognized for his humor and physicality, will join other Gladiators like Nitro, Viper, Diamond, and Sabre. Gladiators, originally a hit on ITV in the 1990s, involves public contestants facing elite athletes with unique personas. The show was revived by Sky in 2008 and relaunched by BBC One in 2024.
