What's Happening?
Thales has introduced Imperva for AWS, a web application firewall available through AWS Marketplace as a software-as-a-service offering. This solution is designed to protect web applications, APIs, and client-side code against cyber threats and malicious
bot activity. Built on Amazon CloudFront, it simplifies deployment and enhances security by keeping traffic within the AWS network, providing protection at scale with zero added latency. The launch addresses the increasing automated traffic and API-focused attacks, as highlighted in the 2026 Thales Bad Bot Report, which found that automated traffic accounts for 53% of all internet requests, with 27% of bot attacks targeting APIs directly.
Why It's Important?
The introduction of Imperva for AWS is significant as it provides organizations with a robust tool to combat the rising threats posed by automated and bot-driven traffic. By offering enterprise-grade security that integrates seamlessly with AWS, Thales is helping businesses protect their digital assets without adding complexity to their operations. This is particularly crucial for sectors that rely heavily on cloud infrastructure and face stringent security requirements. The solution's ability to maintain security within the AWS network while offering centralized visibility and policy management across multi-cloud environments enhances its appeal to organizations seeking to bolster their cybersecurity posture.
