What's Happening?
Vacatia, a provider of management and rental solutions for independent timeshare resorts, has adopted Cloudbeds' Open API to enhance its hybrid operating model. This model integrates vacation ownership with nightly rental demand across nearly 60 resorts in the
U.S. and the Caribbean. The partnership with Cloudbeds allows Vacatia to streamline operations, protect owner inventory, and improve OTA distribution. As Vacatia manages over 11,000 units and serves nearly 500,000 owners, the need for a flexible and connected system became crucial. The Cloudbeds platform supports Vacatia's proprietary timeshare technology, enabling efficient operations and future scalability. This collaboration was highlighted at HITEC, where Vacatia's VP of Engineering, Kris Wallsmith, discussed the benefits of reducing technology fragmentation and preparing for AI-enabled future operations.
Why It's Important?
The integration of Cloudbeds' Open API into Vacatia's operations signifies a shift towards more flexible and scalable hospitality management solutions. This development is crucial for the timeshare industry, which often struggles with outdated systems that hinder operational efficiency. By adopting a modern platform, Vacatia can better manage its extensive portfolio, ensuring seamless operations and improved customer service. This move also positions Vacatia to leverage future technological advancements, such as AI, to enhance guest experiences and optimize revenue management. The partnership exemplifies how traditional hospitality models can evolve by embracing technology, potentially setting a precedent for other operators in the industry.
