What's Happening?
ACE Adventure Resort is preparing for the upcoming Fall Gauley Season, a highly anticipated event for whitewater rafting enthusiasts. The Gauley River, known for its challenging rapids, attracts adventurers from across the country during this short season,
which spans six weekends in September and October. The resort offers various trips, including the Upper Gauley for experienced rafters and the Lower Gauley for those seeking a less intense experience. The Upper Gauley features over 50 rapids, including the famous Big Five Class V rapids, while the Lower Gauley offers a scenic 10-mile run with Class III to V rapids. ACE also provides overnight trips, allowing participants to experience both sections of the river and camp in the canyon. The resort emphasizes the importance of early planning due to the limited availability of trips during this popular season.
Why It's Important?
The Fall Gauley Season is a significant event for the local economy, drawing thousands of visitors to the New River Gorge area. This influx of tourists supports local businesses, including lodging, dining, and other adventure activities offered by ACE Adventure Resort. The event also highlights the importance of preserving natural resources, as the Gauley River's scheduled dam releases create the conditions necessary for this world-class whitewater experience. Additionally, the season provides an opportunity for outdoor enthusiasts to engage in physical activity and connect with nature, promoting both physical and mental well-being.
What's Next?
As the Fall Gauley Season approaches, ACE Adventure Resort is encouraging potential participants to book their trips early to secure their preferred dates and experiences. The resort is also preparing to accommodate the influx of visitors by coordinating logistics, ensuring safety measures are in place, and providing necessary equipment rentals. The success of the season will depend on favorable weather conditions and the continued cooperation of local authorities and businesses to support the event. Looking ahead, the resort aims to maintain its reputation as a premier destination for whitewater rafting and outdoor adventures.
