The Carolina Panthers have placed rookie wide receiver Chris Brazzell on injured reserve following a knee injury sustained during practice. Brazzell, a third-round draft pick from Tennessee and a first-team All-SEC selection, was expected to contribute
significantly in his rookie season. However, he will now undergo surgery to repair his lateral collateral ligament and focus on rehabilitation for the 2027 season. In response to Brazzell's injury, the Panthers have signed tight end Chamon Metayer. Metayer, who initially joined the NFL as an undrafted rookie with the Pittsburgh Steelers, was released in June before being picked up by the Panthers.
