Camelback Productions, led by founder Anita Verma-Lallian, has unveiled ambitious plans for a massive AI-powered production and entertainment complex in Arizona. The project, estimated to cost between $6 billion and $12 billion, will span 1,400 acres
approximately an hour west of Phoenix. The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors has already approved zoning for 1,000 acres of the proposed site. Verma-Lallian intends to break ground within the next year and develop the complex in phases over the coming decade. The comprehensive plan includes state-of-the-art soundstages, backlots, a theme park akin to Universal Studios, hotels, resorts, retail spaces, residential areas, and a dedicated AI and tech center anchored by a data center. Funding for this extensive development is expected to come from private equity, construction loans, and investments, including from Social Capital CEO Chamath Palihapitiya. The project aims to leverage Arizona's business-friendly environment, lower operational costs, and proximity to Los Angeles.
