As a producer, he achieved success on the Americana and Texas Music charts, producing over 150 albums and working with artists like Ray Price and Ronnie Milsap. Detamore owned Cherry Ridge Studio in Texas and was a member of the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame. He is survived by his wife Sandra and son Thomas.
