from initial trials covering half an acre in 2021. The company operates a fleet of 15 diesel-powered machines that run at night, offering an alternative to chemical pesticide applications for controlling fungal pathogens and pests. TRIC Robotics utilizes a 'robots-as-a-service' model, where growers pay for the applications rather than purchasing the equipment outright. This service is priced comparably to what growers currently pay for traditional spraying methods against fungal pathogens, according to co-founder Adam Stager. The company initially developed smaller machines before collaborating with Andros Engineering to create tractor-sized units with automated booms for adjusting UV-C array height.
