The Los Angeles Lakers are moving their NBA G League affiliate team to the Coachella Valley/Palm Springs region in California. The team will be rebranded as the Coachella Valley Lakers and will commence playing its home games at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert
starting with the 2026-27 NBA G League season. This relocation marks a significant organizational change, as the Lakers' G League team, which originated as the Los Angeles D-Fenders in 2006 and later became the South Bay Lakers in 2017, will now have a new home.
