What's Happening?
The historic Magnolia Hotel in Biloxi, Mississippi, built in 1847, is undergoing redevelopment to reopen as a hotel once again. Developer Field Nicaud is leading the project, envisioning a first-floor lobby, restaurant, and bar, complemented by a new
courtyard and breezeway connecting to 16 newly constructed guest suites with parking. The building has a varied history, previously serving as a hotel, restaurant, and museum. Concurrently, construction is underway for Sharkheads Downtown, an expansion of the existing Sharkheads business, located across from the Hard Rock Casino in East Biloxi. Owner JJ Pierotich plans a single-story teal building with pink accents, elevated on stilts, featuring parking underneath and a distinctive shark-themed entrance. Pierotich has owned the land since 2018 but faced several hurdles, including personal issues and Hurricane Zeta, before commencing construction.
