What's Happening?
Brookfield and NextEra Energy have announced plans to develop a $100 billion AI data center campus at the U.S. Department of Energy's Paducah Site in Kentucky. This project will include up to 4.6 GW of dedicated power generation, comprising natural gas
and battery energy storage systems. The initiative is part of a broader effort to transform the former Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant site into a hub for energy and innovation. The development is expected to create approximately 8,000 construction jobs and 600 full-time operational jobs.
