What's Happening?
A new grant initiative, Women Behind the Camera, aims to support independent female filmmakers in shooting their projects on celluloid. Founded by filmmaker and actress Armida López, the grant is supported by 33 & Change Films, MasterBuilt Lenses, and ASCF.
The initiative selected grantees from a pool of 500 applicants, providing them with a full lens package and additional camera support. The recipients include filmmakers Anna Remus, LaTajh Simmons-Weaver, and the team of Mack Breeden and Riley Scott. These filmmakers will receive resources to enhance their projects, such as free scanning and a membership with the Alliance of Women Directors. The grant aims to preserve the art of celluloid filmmaking and support female directors in the industry.
