What's Happening?
RSM US, a prominent provider of audit, tax, and consulting services to middle market companies, is significantly expanding its ServiceNow practice, specifically targeting Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Configure-Price-Quote (CPQ), and customer
service transformation. The firm is actively seeking a Manager, CRM and Front Office Solutions, a dual-role position that involves leading complex client engagements and developing the go-to-market strategy for this new practice area. This foundational hire is expected to define RSM's Front Office practice, including its methodology, delivery approach, client narrative, and market positioning. The individual will work closely with practice leadership and ServiceNow's commercial team to bring this capability to market. RSM's ServiceNow practice already delivers transformation across strategic portfolio management, IT asset management, integrated risk management, and AI-enabled solutions, and is a member of ServiceNow's Partner Advisory Council.
Why It's Important?
This expansion by RSM US signifies a strategic move to enhance its offerings in the rapidly evolving digital transformation landscape. By focusing on CRM and CPQ solutions within the ServiceNow platform, RSM aims to meet the growing demand from middle market organizations for integrated and efficient customer-facing operations. This initiative could lead to increased competition in the professional services sector, particularly for firms specializing in ServiceNow implementations. Clients stand to gain from more comprehensive and tailored solutions for managing customer lifecycles, potentially improving their operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. For RSM, a successful build-out of this practice could solidify its position as a leading advisor in digital transformation, attracting new clients and talent while driving revenue growth in a key technology segment.
What's Next?
The immediate next step for RSM US is to successfully recruit and onboard the Manager, CRM and Front Office Solutions. Within the first 90 days, this individual is expected to gain a complete understanding of RSM's existing capabilities, define the Front Office delivery methodology, and initiate client conversations. The goal for the first year is to lead at least one CPQ implementation to a successful go-live, publish RSM's Front Office solution play, and contribute significantly to the practice's pipeline. The long-term success of this role, and the practice itself, will be measured by client wins, the establishment of a defined methodology, a strong market presence, and a capable delivery team by the end of FY27. RSM will also continue to identify migration opportunities, particularly for organizations transitioning from Salesforce CPQ.
Beyond the Headlines
The strategic investment by RSM US in ServiceNow's Front Office capabilities reflects a broader industry trend towards platform consolidation and integrated business solutions. As businesses increasingly seek to streamline operations and enhance customer experiences, the demand for comprehensive platforms like ServiceNow that can manage various aspects of an enterprise, from IT to customer relations, is on the rise. This move also highlights the growing importance of specialized consulting expertise in implementing and optimizing these complex platforms. The shift from legacy systems or fragmented solutions to integrated platforms like ServiceNow can have profound implications for data management, operational efficiency, and competitive advantage, underscoring the critical role that firms like RSM play in guiding organizations through these transformations.
