What's Happening?
Accor has announced the reopening of the Novotel St Kilda in Melbourne, Australia, following a significant transformation led by owner ERDI. The hotel, previously known as the Saint Kilda Beach Hotel, is set to debut in October 2026 with 80 redesigned
guest rooms. The renovation includes a contemporary coastal design aimed at providing calming spaces for guests. Additionally, the hotel will feature a new conference and events facility, a flexible co-working space, and a reimagined internal garden atrium. A new culinary destination, Urban Kitchen & Bar – St Kilda, is also in development, offering a lively dining experience for both guests and locals. The project reflects a commitment to local impact, with furniture and fittings from the existing hotel redistributed to support local charities.
Why It's Important?
The reopening of Novotel St Kilda is significant as it strengthens Accor's presence in the Pacific region, particularly in Australia and New Zealand. With over 420 hotels in its portfolio, Accor is reinforcing its position as a leading hotel group in the region. The transformation of the hotel not only enhances its appeal to tourists and business travelers but also supports local communities through charitable initiatives. This development is part of Accor's broader strategy to expand in key urban and leisure destinations, supported by strong owner partnerships and a robust pipeline.
