The Inter-Cultural Association of Greater Victoria (ICA) has been awarded 10 free tickets to the FIFA World Cup match between New Zealand and Egypt at Vancouver's BC Place on June 21. This opportunity is part of the BC Place Community Benefit Program,
a collaborative initiative involving the Province, PavCo, and the City of Vancouver. Originally, the program aimed to distribute 350 tickets, but it has been expanded to provide 500 tickets to 50 community organizations across British Columbia. The ICA is the only group from Vancouver Island to receive tickets. The organization, which supports the integration of newcomers into Victoria's community, will select participants through a random draw due to high demand. The initiative targets youth facing barriers such as financial limitations, mental health issues, and cultural adjustment challenges.
