What's Happening?
Tekever has introduced a new rotary wing uncrewed aircraft system (UAS) named AR6 at the Farnborough Airshow. This system is designed to capture a share of the expanding uncrewed heavy-lift multicopter market. The AR6, which is the first in a series of scalable
heavy-lift autonomous systems, boasts a combustion-engine that enhances range and payload capabilities compared to electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) systems. The AR6 can carry payloads of up to 200 kg over distances of approximately 500 km. Tekever has incorporated digitally controlled hydraulics, developed by Flowcopter, to improve the AR6's performance. This technology allows for precise control and energy efficiency, which is crucial for the system's operation. The AR6 is intended for both commercial and civil applications, including logistics, medical support, and humanitarian relief. Additionally, it is part of Tekever's proposal for Project Nyx, a UK initiative to develop an autonomous support system for the British Army's Apache helicopters.
