Southeast Technical College (STC) has collaborated with the South Dakota Department of Health to deliver a specialized four-week phlebotomy course. This customized training program was designed for Disease Intervention Specialists, aiming to enhance their
clinical skills in blood collection, specimen handling, and related procedures. The program successfully trained 18 specialists, including five from Rapid City, utilizing a blended learning model that combined online lectures with in-person lab instruction. An instructor also traveled to Rapid City to conduct final competency validation for participants in that region, demonstrating a flexible approach to workforce development across the state.
