What's Happening?
CleanTech Vanadium Mining Corp. is preparing to submit a permit application for its Campbell-Crotser Fluorspar Mining Project in Kentucky by the end of 2026. The company is working with SynTerra Corporation to assist with the permitting process, which
includes environmental and technical studies. The project aims to produce 97% acid-grade fluorspar on site, with permits expected to be issued in the first half of 2027. This initiative is part of CleanTech's strategy to establish a domestic source of fluorspar, a critical mineral for various industries.
Why It's Important?
The development of the Campbell-Crotser project is significant for the U.S. as it seeks to reduce reliance on imported fluorspar, a mineral critical for manufacturing processes in industries such as aluminum production and electronics. Establishing a domestic supply could enhance national security and economic stability by ensuring access to essential materials. For CleanTech, successful permitting and development of the project could position the company as a key player in the critical minerals market, potentially leading to increased investment and growth opportunities.
