What's Happening?
The annual JamBarge event took place in Pipes Cove, Greenport, drawing boaters and music enthusiasts to enjoy performances by local musicians such as Hello Brooklyn and Julia King. Hosted by RideShore, the event aimed to raise funds for the Center for Advocacy,
Support and Transformation (CAST). CAST is dedicated to building a stronger and healthier community in Southold Town and Shelter Island. The floating stage event not only provided entertainment but also supported CAST's mission to enhance community well-being through advocacy and support services.
Why It's Important?
Events like the JamBarge play a crucial role in fostering community spirit and supporting local initiatives. By raising funds for CAST, the event contributes to the organization's efforts in providing essential services and support to the community. This includes advocacy, transformation programs, and resources aimed at improving the quality of life for residents. Such community-driven events highlight the importance of local support systems and the role of cultural activities in promoting social cohesion and community development.
