BAE Systems, Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of the international defense, aerospace, and security company BAE Systems plc, is actively recruiting an Electrical Reliability Engineering Intern for its Space & Mission Systems division. This internship, part of the nationwide
LEAP Internship & Co-op Program, is slated for Summer 2027. The selected intern will gain hands-on experience under the mentorship of Mission Assurance and MSA Leadership, focusing on reliability requirements crucial for mission success in both terrestrial and space domains. Responsibilities include familiarization with various reliability metrics such as Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), Mean Time Between Critical Failures (MTBCF), Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR), Probability of Success (Ps), and Operational Availability (Ao). The intern will also learn about different reliability analyses, including Reliability Prediction, Part Stress Analysis (PSA), Failure Modes Effects Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Worst Case Circuit Analysis (WCCA), Limited Life Analysis (LLA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Probabilistic Risk Assessment, and Built-In Test (BIT) Analysis. The role involves creating accurate electrical reliability component parameter variation models, analyzing electrical circuits, and assisting other Reliability Engineers.
