traditional biological-age tests that offer a single snapshot, Eight Sleep's version updates every seven days, utilizing biometric data collected by its Pod mattress system. This data includes heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, sleep stages, and sleep duration. Users can also integrate data from other fitness trackers, such as Apple Health, and for some U.S. beta members, medical records through HealthEx, with user consent. The company has trained a health foundation model on over 100,000 participants and 2.7 million hours of biometric data to power this new feature. The 'Biological Age' feature produces two key measurements: 'Speed of Aging,' which estimates the rate of aging relative to chronological time, and 'Biological Age,' which translates this pace into an age comparable to a person's chronological age.
