What's Happening?
The U.S. Economic Development Administration has awarded a $31 million grant to support the nuclear sector in Idaho and Wyoming. The funds will be used to develop the Intermountain-West Nuclear Energy Corridor (INEC) Tech Hub, led by the Idaho Advanced
Energy Consortium (IAEC). The grant aims to support advanced fuel fabrication, workforce training, and the integration of firms into the nuclear supply chain. The Idaho National Laboratory, a founding partner of the IAEC, will play a key role in expanding Idaho's role in the nuclear supply chain. The funding is expected to create over 900 jobs and generate $190 million in regional economic impact over five years.
