What's Happening?
The Abbey of the Arts has launched a new video podcast series titled 'Cultivating Seeds of Liberation.' This series is designed as a prayer cycle, with the first day's content now released. The project was developed by a core planning team and features
video work and editing by Wisdom Council member Betsey Beckman, who also provided financial support. The series will release seven days of morning and evening podcasts over the next seven weeks, with one full day of content becoming available each week. The theme of 'Cultivating Seeds of Liberation' emerged from a desire to address contemporary issues and promote liberation from systems that cause harm, using music and prayer to plant images of possibility. The inaugural prayer, 'Love,' was written by Claudia Love Mair.
Why It's Important?
This new video podcast series from the Abbey of the Arts represents a significant initiative in spiritual and contemplative practices, leveraging digital media to reach a broader audience. In a society often grappling with complex social and personal challenges, the podcast's focus on 'liberation' and 'cultivating seeds of possibility' offers a resource for reflection, healing, and community building. The involvement of various contributors, including guest dancers and financial supporters, highlights a collaborative approach to spiritual outreach. For individuals seeking spiritual guidance and a sense of connection, particularly in a remote or online format, this series provides accessible content that encourages introspection and engagement with themes of love, compassion, and social justice. It underscores the evolving ways religious and spiritual organizations are adapting to digital platforms to fulfill their missions.
What's Next?
The 'Cultivating Seeds of Liberation' video podcast series will continue to release new content weekly for the next seven weeks, providing a structured prayer cycle for its audience. Each week will introduce a new full day of morning and evening podcasts, building upon the overarching theme. The Abbey of the Arts will also continue its monthly contemplative prayer services, with Simon de Voil and Christine leading the community in song, reflection, and meditation, aligning with the 'Cultivating Seeds of Liberation' theme. The ongoing availability of these resources, offered freely, aims to sustain engagement and provide continuous support for individuals on their spiritual journeys. The project's success may also influence future digital initiatives by the Abbey of the Arts and similar organizations.
