Ray Green, a former rugby player for the California Golden Bears, is being recognized as one of the top transfer athletes in the history of Cal sports. Green transferred from Towson State to Cal in the early 1990s and played a pivotal role in the team's
success. During his tenure, the Bears won national rugby championships in 1993, 1994, and 1995, with Green serving as the captain in his final year. Despite missing the national title games in 1993 and 1994 due to a broken leg, Green was instrumental in the 1995 championship victory over Air Force. His leadership and performance earned him All-America honors and a spot on the USA national rugby team, where he earned 11 caps.
