What's Happening?
Casa Tua, a Miami-based hospitality brand, is set to open a high-end food hall named Cucina by Casa Tua in the historic Williamsburgh Savings Bank Tower, also known as One Hanson Place, in Brooklyn. The Landmarks Preservation Commission has approved the designs
for this new venture, which will preserve the landmarked interiors of the building. The food hall will feature Italian cuisine and fine goods, maintaining the cathedral-inspired design of the former banking hall. The project, designed by Acheson Doyle Partners Architects and Hapstak Demetriou, will include new mezzanines overlooking the food hall, a main bar, a raw bar, and a sushi/crudo kiosk. Additional features will include a lounge, private dining, and special event spaces on the lower level. The Cucina format, currently only available in Miami, is expected to open in 2027.
