What's Happening?
The Hershey Company, in collaboration with Morning Consult, has released a report indicating that Halloween anticipation in the U.S. is beginning earlier than usual. The report, titled 'Unwrapping Halloween: Hershey's State of the Season,' reveals that many
Americans are engaging with Halloween traditions and purchases well before October. This trend, known as 'Summerween,' sees consumers participating in Halloween-related activities and buying candy months in advance. The report highlights that 55% of parents are in 'Halloween mode' before October, and 67% have already purchased Halloween candy during the summer.
Why It's Important?
The shift towards an extended Halloween season presents significant opportunities for retailers and brands like Hershey. By capitalizing on the early anticipation, companies can boost sales and enhance customer engagement through targeted marketing strategies. This trend also reflects changing consumer behaviors, where people seek to extend festive experiences and create new traditions. For Hershey, this means adapting its product offerings and marketing efforts to meet consumer demands, potentially leading to increased market share and brand loyalty.
