Kouts High School's baseball team, led by sophomore pitcher Billy Miller, achieved a historic victory by winning their first state title in any sport. The team triumphed over Northeast Dubois with a 2-0 win in the Class 1A state championship game held

The team scored in the second inning with a double by senior catcher Cooper Whitaker and a sacrifice fly by senior left fielder Collin Breitzke. They added another run in the third inning when sophomore right fielder Ben Finney stole second base and scored on two errors.
