UC Riverside Director of Athletics Greg Paules has announced the appointment of John Vaca as the new Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Relations. In this role, Vaca will be responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction for the Highlanders'
external-facing units and operations. He will also serve as the sport supervisor for men's basketball, men's soccer, and softball. Vaca brings extensive experience in intercollegiate athletics administration, development, corporate partnerships, fundraising, marketing, and revenue generation to UC Riverside. His previous experience includes working in development at the University of Southern California and spending eight years at Cal State Fullerton, where he significantly increased corporate partnership revenue as the director of corporate partnerships for Titan Athletics. He also directed marketing, digital content, social media, and multimedia-rights activation strategies.
