What's Happening?
Luxury furnishings studio Nathan Anthony Furniture is launching its inaugural Case Goods Capsule collection at the WestEdge Design Fair, held from October 29-31. This new collection introduces customizable nightstands, consoles, and a curved bookshelf
specifically designed to complement the brand's existing semicircular seating. The capsule features three distinct collections—Architecte, Miramar, and Alais 2.0—each engineered to seamlessly integrate with Nathan Anthony's sectionals, upholstered beds, and sofas. The Architecte and Miramar collections offer four customizable case piece options, including nightstands with open shelves or two drawers, and consoles ranging from 48 to 84 inches in width. Miramar also includes a unique curved bookshelf designed to wrap around the back of the brand's semi-circular seating. The Alais 2.0 collection provides a customizable console up to 84 inches wide, set on hand-turned alder wood feet. Additionally, the capsule collection expands the dining category by incorporating custom banquette seating. All pieces are benchmade to order in Los Angeles, offering a variety of wood finishes and specialty veneers.
Why It's Important?
This expansion into case goods marks a significant strategic move for Nathan Anthony Furniture, driven by direct requests from interior design partners. By offering correlating case pieces, the company aims to provide designers and their clients with seamless continuity in aesthetics and functionality, eliminating the challenges of sourcing from disparate vendors. This integrated approach allows for precise matching of scale, finish, and silhouette, enhancing the overall design cohesion of interior spaces. For the luxury furniture market, this development signifies a trend towards more comprehensive, bespoke solutions from single manufacturers, simplifying the design process for professionals. It also highlights the growing demand for highly customizable and integrated furniture systems that cater to specific design visions and spatial requirements, reinforcing Nathan Anthony's position as a provider of tailored, high-end furnishings.
What's Next?
Following its debut at the WestEdge Design Fair, the Case Goods Capsule collection will become available for interior designers and clients to order. The company anticipates that this new offering will strengthen its relationships with design partners by providing a more complete range of coordinated products. Nathan Anthony Furniture will likely monitor feedback from the design community and sales performance to inform future expansions of its case goods line. This launch could also inspire other luxury furniture manufacturers to develop more integrated collections, fostering a trend towards holistic interior design solutions within the industry. The brand's continued focus on bespoke, benchmade pieces suggests ongoing innovation in customizable furniture options to meet evolving market demands.
Beyond the Headlines
