Newfield, a new master-planned community in Palm City, Florida, is distinguishing itself by dedicating 2,000 acres to a nature preserve and 170 acres to a sustainable farm within its 3,411-acre footprint. This development, located 40 miles north of West
Palm Beach, will comprise nine villages. Dan Grosswald, president of developer Mattamy Homes' Southeast Florida Division, stated that this focus on nature preservation and sustainable agriculture was key to gaining local support in Martin County, an area historically resistant to growth. The land, purchased in 2022 from the Kiplinger publishing family, was originally zoned for five-acre agricultural 'ranchettes.' The Kiplinger Conservancy will preserve two-thirds of the land, with some areas activated for residents and locals, including miles of trails, a boardwalk, and an overlook. The first residential area, Rosette Park, is completed, with 240 of its 560 homes already sold.
