In the first Knockout Match of the Bass Pro Shops Patriot Cup Presented by B&W Trailer Hitches, Nick Hatfield and John Hunter of Team O’Reilly Auto Parts secured a dominant first-place finish. They weighed in 12 scorable bass totaling 24 pounds, 2 ounces
on the challenging upper section of the Potomac River. The second qualifying spot for the Championship Round was fiercely contested between Mark Davis and Marshall Hughes of Team B&W Trailer Hitches and Greg Vinson and Bradley Roy of Team Seaguar BRAWLR. Vinson and Roy ultimately pulled ahead in the final stretch, catching 13 scorable bass for a total of 21 pounds, 13 ounces, thus advancing to the next round. Davis and Hughes were eliminated, finishing third with 8 pounds, 9 ounces from four scorable bass.
