Most participants were women aged 20 to 60 years with dry or normal skin types, and probiotic doses ranged from 1 x 10^9 to 1 x 10^11 CFU/day over durations of 4 to 12 weeks. Oral probiotics were generally well tolerated, with mild gastrointestinal symptoms being the most common adverse events, occurring at similar rates in both probiotic and placebo groups.
