The Mobile Sports Hall of Fame has inducted its 2026 class, celebrating the achievements of four distinguished athletes and coaches. The ceremony took place at the Mitchell Center on the campus of South Alabama. This year's inductees include Derrick Burroughs,
a former NFL defensive back and coach; Derrick Coleman, a former NBA All-Star; Joe Niland, a successful basketball coach and current athletic director at Spring Hill College; and Eric Yelding, a former Major League Baseball shortstop. Derrick Coleman was celebrated for his achievements in basketball, including being the first overall pick in the 1990 NBA Draft.
