DeSantis, who leads a new Amazon organization focused on AI, chips, and quantum computing, anticipates that these machines will initially address complex problems in chemistry and material science. Amazon's Ocelot quantum computing chip, designed to tackle error correction, is a key component of this effort. The company expects quantum computing to follow a growth pattern similar to Moore's Law, with rapid advancements in capability.
