The Starland District in Savannah, Georgia, has transformed from a historical area centered around the Starland Dairy into a vibrant creative hub. This transformation was spearheaded by two Savannah College of Art and Design graduates, John Deaderick
and Greg Jacobs, who envisioned the area as a center for art and design. They commissioned artists to paint murals on abandoned buildings and organized performances and exhibitions, attracting new businesses. The district now features a mix of quirky boutiques, art galleries, record stores, and unique dining options housed in upcycled shipping containers. This eclectic mix has made Starland a lively and youthful part of Savannah, drawing comparisons to other creative havens in Georgia.
