What's Happening?
Avalon Waterways is set to host a dedicated full ship charter on the Danube River for Australian and New Zealand travel advisors in March 2027. This follows the success of a similar event earlier in 2026, which resulted in significant commercial benefits
and increased passenger bookings. The upcoming event will take place from March 19 to 26, 2027, and will feature the Danube Dreams itinerary, cruising from Budapest to Vilshofen. The charter aims to enhance the advisors' product knowledge through structured training sessions, interactive workshops, and Q&A opportunities with senior leadership from the Globus family of brands. The initiative is designed to foster connections within the travel advisor community and improve their ability to sell Avalon Waterways' offerings.
Why It's Important?
The 2027 charter is significant as it represents a strategic effort by Avalon Waterways to strengthen its market position by directly engaging with travel advisors. By providing firsthand experience of their products, Avalon aims to convert these advisors into brand advocates, thereby driving sales and expanding their customer base. The success of the 2026 charter, which exceeded expectations in terms of bookings, underscores the effectiveness of this approach. This initiative not only benefits Avalon Waterways but also enhances the professional development of the participating advisors, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to better serve their clients.
What's Next?
Following the 2027 charter, Avalon Waterways plans to offer a post-charter coach touring option, allowing advisors to further explore Europe with Globus. This additional offering is expected to provide further opportunities for advisors to deepen their understanding of the brand's portfolio. The continued engagement with travel advisors is likely to result in sustained sales growth and increased brand loyalty. Avalon Waterways' commitment to these charters indicates a long-term strategy to maintain strong relationships with the travel advisor community, which could lead to more such initiatives in the future.
