Snap Inc., the company behind Snapchat, has announced the preorder availability of its first augmented reality (AR) glasses, SPECS. These glasses are set to ship in the U.S., U.K., and France in the fall of 2026, with a preorder price of $2,195. SPECS utilize
transparent waveguide technology to project UI elements onto lenses, offering a 51-degree field of view. The glasses are made from lightweight Swiss TR90 thermoplastic and are available in two sizes. They feature dual Snapdragon processors and run on Snap OS 2.0, providing a tetherless experience with a 4-hour battery life, extendable to 20 hours with a charging case.
