What's Happening?
Alligator Energy, an Australian exploration company, has executed a call option agreement to acquire the Mullaquana Crown Lease from Joyce Pastoral. This acquisition will provide Alligator Energy with access to the Plumbush uranium deposit and the southern
extension of the Blackbush uranium deposit within the Samphire Project in South Australia. The agreement is structured as a staged acquisition, allowing Alligator immediate access for exploration activities. The company will pay $500,000 by July 2026 for the option, with the potential to exercise the option for $6.75 million within 18 months. This move is seen as pivotal for advancing the Samphire Project, with plans for infill and extension drilling at the Plumbush deposit, which has not been drilled in over a decade.
Why It's Important?
The acquisition of the Mullaquana Crown Lease is significant for Alligator Energy as it enhances their ability to expand the resource estimate of the Samphire Project. The inclusion of the Plumbush deposit has already increased the project's resource estimate by 67% to 30 million pounds of triuranium octoxide. This expansion strengthens Alligator's position in the uranium market, potentially increasing their competitiveness and market share. The strategic importance of the Mullaquana exploration tenements is underscored by the company's plans for an aggressive drilling campaign aimed at further resource expansion. This development could have broader implications for the uranium industry, particularly in terms of supply and market dynamics.
What's Next?
Alligator Energy plans to conduct an aggressive drilling campaign throughout 2026 to further expand the resource estimate of the Samphire Project. An updated mineral resource estimate is anticipated in early 2027, which will contribute to an ongoing Bankable Feasibility Study expected to be completed by mid-2027. The company aims to convert more resources into indicated and measured categories, strengthening the foundation for future development. The successful execution of these plans could position Alligator Energy as a key player in the uranium sector, potentially influencing market trends and investment in uranium exploration and production.
