ST Engineering iDirect, a prominent satellite communications company, is collaborating with Datacom, a leading satcom integrator and service provider, to implement its Intuition ground system across the Asia-Pacific region. This partnership aims to deliver
cloud-native services for satellite operators, enhancing bandwidth efficiency, enabling multi-orbit operations, and accelerating network modernization. The Intuition system introduces a flexible, bring-your-own-hardware architecture, moving away from traditional hardware migration cycles. Sridhar Kuppanna, CEO of ST Engineering iDirect, stated that Intuition provides Datacom with a cloud-native foundation for immediate efficiency gains, faster service activation, and the flexibility required for multi-orbit architectures. The deployment supports Datacom's Satellite Modernization Blueprint, a framework designed to help operators transition to software-defined, cloud-native architectures. This initiative will initially be rolled out across multiple gateways to support a large base of maritime terminals, allowing seamless roaming between existing and Intuition networks.
